DANCE as a course.
went with jing to the career fair @ suntec today.
haha we were taking e escalators up, and on the 3rd floor we saw 'career fair 06' and a listing of seminars. so we thought there were only seminars and talks. disappointed, we sat thru a talk on how to choose e right course but we were both dozing off :S and finally at the end of the talk the speaker mentioned 'you can get more information from our booth on the 6th floor' :S wahhh we chionged out of the seminar room to take e escalator up to e 6th floor :)
walked ard, and i realized i took 6kgs worth of prospectus *sheepish grin*
got home, studied abit of chem, then decided to browse thru e goods i've brought back :) i thought the diversity and spectrum of biomed and biotech stuff of e university of northumbria pretty interesting, and a prof actually intro-ed us briefly to the biomed + tech courses offered, so it kinda gave me a deeper impression. i pulled out the undergrad prospectus and lo and behold, under subjects, i saw 5 letters.

gosh.
it just reminded me how much more i'd prefer to study dance than all those bio stuff. i do like biomed and stuff, in terms of degree of love (phrasing here abit weird), give me dance anytime.
i know ppl think me as dumb and silly and that 'i dont have my priorities right' to choose dance over the sciences. but that's wat i genuinely love! are sciences really 'superior' to dance? are sciences THE only thing that's worth studying?
i try, to compromise, to study bio, chem, etc, but it doesnt show what i actually want and love to do. biomed just seems to be a cover, a wat ppl call 'decent job compared to dance'.
but it's only when you attempt to study and make urself like smth you dont really love from e bottom of ur heart, that you can see what is it that you actually want to do.
i've always wanted my classroom: not to be filled with tables and chairs, but empty; not white/black board, but full length mirrors; not simply flat walls, but lined with smooth light brown logs known as barre; not concrete, but parque; not dust at the corners, but golden rocks known as rosin; not projectors, but pianos/ stereo systems. a place where i leave not aching primarily in my arms and fingers, but the entire body; a place i sweat, bleed (toes), spin, fly, vent, and express my emotions.
where else can you do all these besides the dance studio?
I WANT TO STUDY DANCE.
okay, shall go check out the other unis' prospectus. hopefully dance appears again and again.
*haha sorry guys this post still seems dismal. :)
